Safeguarding Policy – a safe environment for all

As one of the leading providers of apprenticeships and training in Wales, Cambrian Training Company is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our apprentices, employees and others involved in our day-to-day work.

As our motto states, we want our apprentices and learners to “Dream it, Learn it, Live it.” They must be able to fulfil their passion and ambition without fear, worry or prejudice no matter where they are or what they’re doing.

Our Safeguarding Policy sets out our commitment and responsibility to ensure everyone involved in the apprenticeships, Jobs Growth Wales and the employability opportunities we provide understands their responsibilities for safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk, no matter what their role is or where they work within the organisation.

So how do we do this?

As part of our recruitment and training each and every employee of Cambrian Training Company must understand the importance of our Safeguarding Policy.

It is their role to inspire learners and to develop their skills and employability opportunities along the way, while ensuring their safety and wellbeing at the same time.

“We all have a duty of care to safeguard and promote welfare and to enhance awareness of the broader welfare spectrum, specifically the issues of young people in society” – Safeguarding Policy.

Our recruitment process involves Disclosure and Barring Service Checks (DBS) followed by an induction and training that includes understanding their responsibilities under our Safeguarding Policy.

“The aim of the policy is to ensure you are aware of and understand your responsibilities, that of others, signs there might be a safeguarding concern, along with the reporting procedures for all safeguarding issues” – Safeguarding Policy.

All training officers undertake a Safeguarding course and ongoing training. This also includes wider safeguarding issues such as radicalisation, mental health issues, positive relationships and staying safe on the internet.

Above all we want our apprentices and learners throughout Wales to have the best possible opportunity to learn and develop their employability skills in whatever sector or industry they are involved with.

Together we can engage, inspire and succeed.
