Swansea Fish is a family owned and operated seafood wholesaler based in Swansea. The Company was born with humble beginnings by Debora Rees (then Harris) in 1991, operating as just one woman and her van.  Over the last 35 years the company has gone from strength to strength, growing from one woman and her van to 12 employees and six vans supplying over 400 businesses across South Wales with fresh and frozen seafood from all over the globe. The business also now includes Debora’s husband Paul and sons Ciaran and Morgan, and we look forward to a bright future for generations to come.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

This is fantastic opportunity to achieve a Foundation Apprenticeship in Seafood Industry Skills while earning a salary. The successful candidate will be mentored by our experienced team who will support you to become fully skilled and qualified in this industry. This will include areas such as processing fish/shellfish for wholesale and retail, contributing to the environmental safety in food manufacture, wrapping and packaging, retail operations and maintaining quality. The course should take around 18 months to complete and will be fully funded. The job will also include all other reasonable related duties / tasks as may be required from time to time.

Desirable Personal Qualities:

We are looking for someone who is reliable and has the drive to learn and wants to become part of the team.

Qualifications Required:

Attitude and willingness to learn is the most important requirement.  Essential skills in Application of Number and Communication form part of the apprenticeship, you will need to work towards these qualifications if you don't hold Maths and English GCSE.

Apprenticeship Course: Level 2 Certificate for Proficiency in Seafood Industry Skills

Pay: National Minimum Wage

Hours: - Tuesday to Saturday 40 hours per week

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our well-established Accounts Team as an Accounts Apprentice. This role offers an excellent pathway for someone looking to build a long-term career in accountancy. As part of the apprenticeship, you will be supported in studying towards your AAT qualification, gaining both practical experience and formal training.

  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in the hospitality sector
  • Have experience in leading a team and supervising others (desirable, not essential)
  • Have excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Have a good level of IT skills and ability to learn new software
  • Hold D32/D33, TAQA or A1 Assessor award or willing to undertake
  • Hold GCSE A* C / 9 – 4 in English and Maths or Level 2 equivalent (desirable, not essential)
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential
  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Delivering effective teaching and learning to a caseload of learners in the workplace
  • Development of learner’s skills, knowledge and understanding

The role

Flynn’s Delicatessen is looking for a Bakery & Deli Assistant to join our growing team. This is an entry-level role for someone who is interested in food, baking, hospitality and working in a busy independent deli environment. The role will support our in-house bakery production, including breads, bagels, brioche, cakes and other deli products, while also helping with deli counter and customer service duties during service. Duties will include preparing ingredients, helping with daily baking, following recipes and batch records, keeping the bakery and kitchen areas clean and organised, supporting stock rotation, helping prepare products for service and retail, serving customers, taking orders, assisting with the deli counter, and helping maintain a warm, welcoming and professional customer experience.

About You

This would suit someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, practical and keen to learn. Previous bakery, kitchen or customer service experience is not essential, as training will be provided, but the right attitude and a genuine interest in food are important. Training and Development
This role will be supported by a formal apprenticeship programme, providing structured training alongside practical experience.
