Angela Maguire-Lewis is a highly experienced senior manager with a varied career in work-based learning spanning over 28 years, with a proven track record in senior and advisory roles across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. As Director of Governance, she plays an integral role in ensuring Cambrian Training Company operates at the highest standards of scrutiny and integrity.
As a senior leader, she has successfully developed strategic vision and direction, ensuring that the highest quality provision underpins growth and expansion of work-based learning. She was a founding Board member and chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at Qualifications Wales and is currently a member of the NTFW Board and the City and Guilds Quality and Standards Committee. She has previously been a member of several provider networks including the Quality Board for the Association of Employers and Providers in England. Within these roles she often attends meetings with Government officials and Ministers to influence skills policy and improve provision in the interest of learners and employer partners to influence future skills programmes.
Angela has provided senior leadership and advisory support to a variety of management teams and organisations, to ensure the successful delivery of quality improvement strategies and company objectives. Whilst exceeding agreed targets year on year through managing efficient, effective and high-quality skills programmes. She has a successful record of engaging relevant stakeholders, to ensure programmes meet current and future needs of learners and their employers.
Angela’s wide ranging experience working strategically with sector bodies, government officials and employers – both large and small – has been pivotal in developing skills programmes to meet industry needs. Throughout her extensive career, Angela displays a strong emphasis and commitment to increasing apprenticeship opportunities and achieving high quality outcomes with transparency and equality.
