We are very proud to announce our amazing finalists for the 2022 Apprenticeship Awards.
These special awards are held annually to celebrate employers and learners who have excelled in our apprenticeship, skills and employment training programmes across Wales.
Managing Director Arwyn Watkins is extremely grateful to all who took the time to apply and said the company was delighted with the quality of applications submitted this year, despite the challenging circumstances caused by the pandemic over the past two years.
The exciting awards event will be held at the prestigious Metropole Hotel & Spa in Llandrindod Wells on June 14 and will include a celebratory 3 course meal for all finalists and their guests. The winners of each award category will be announced and there will be a chance for professional pictures and drinks.
The team there had this to say: “We very much look forward to hosting the awards at The Metropole Hotel & Spa to showcase the dedication and commitment by individuals and companies to the apprenticeship programme here in Wales.”
The finalists are as follows:
Foundation Apprentice of the Year: Hannah Ffion Lewis, 22, from In the Welsh Wind Distillery, Cardigan (pictured above) and Ryan Harding, 26, from Kepak, Merthyr Tydfil.
Apprentice of the Year: Ben Roberts, 30, M. E. Evans, Overton-on-Dee, Despoina Tsolakaki, 27, from The Danish Bakery, Cardiff and Kayla Millon from Whitbread – Premier Inn, Caerphilly.
Higher Apprentice of the Year: Nerys Margret Smithwick, 35, from The Celtic Collection, Newport and Jessica Kelly, 26 from Stena Line.
Outstanding individual: Fionntan Curran, 25, from Forte School of Music (Cardiff) Ltd., Harley Bayliss, 21, from The Metropole Hotel & Spa, Llandrindod Wells and Kane Deacon-Roberts, 25, from NS James Limited.
Micro Employer of the Year: Freedom Saddlery at Whitegate Farm, Hope, Wrexham and The Menai Seafood Company, Porth Penrhyn, Bangor.
Small Employer of the Year: Castle Inn Pembrokeshire Limited, Newport and In the Welsh Wind Distillery, Tanygroes, Cardigan.
Medium Employer of the Year: Thorncliffe Building Supplies, Dyserth and Celtica Foods, Cross Hands, Llanelli.
Large and Macro Employer of the Year: The Celtic Collection, Newport and Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth.
