Apprenticeships may not be seen as a ‘traditional’ career pathway such as university. However, we believe gaining accredited and transferrable qualifications with no cost to you, as well as direct industry experience; is a no brainer!
An apprenticeship is a way for young people and adult learners alike to earn while they learn in employment, whilst gaining real vocational qualifications and a real future. It is a programme of learning and qualifications, completed in the workplace, that provides you with the skills, knowledge and experience to progress a career in your chosen industry and achieve your goals.
Apprenticeship programmes follow an approved National Framework to allow you to achieve your Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) at levels 2, 3, 4 and above; as well as Essential Skills. As part of the framework you will also complete two additional assignments: Employment Rights and Responsibilities and Health and Safety.
We offer apprenticeship frameworks in the following industries:
- Hospitality
- Food & Drink Manufacturing
- Customer Service
- Retail Skills
- Business Administration
- Team Leading & Management
- AAT Accounting
- Sustainable Resource Management
- Health & Social Care & Early Years
- Hairdressing & Barbering
There are three levels of apprenticeships – different jobs require different levels of qualifications and the suitable level will depend on your current experience and qualifications. This also means you are able to continue to progress onto the next level and extend and solidify your knowledge and skills; increasing your future employability.
Apprenticeships are available in the following three levels for anybody those aged 16 years old and over:
Foundation Apprenticeships – this is equivalent to five good GCSE passes.
Apprentices work towards an NVQ Level 2 which provides the skills that apprentices need for their chosen career and allow entry to an Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship – this is equivalent to two A-level passes.
Apprentices work towards an NVQ Level 3.
To start at this level, apprentices should ideally have five GCSEs (grade C or above) or have completed a Foundation Apprenticeship.
Higher Apprenticeships
Higher Apprenticeships work towards an NVQ Level 4 or 5.
