We have worked with 2,712 business across wales over the last 25 years from small to Large supporting them to improve skill sets and to grow as a business.

Our staff have over 300 years combined experience across a range of sectors, giving us the tools & expertise to deliver first class apprenticeships. Our team have 88 years’ experience in the hospitality sector, 133 years’ experience in Food manufacturing and 140 years’ experience in Business & Administration to name but a few.
8. Over 7,000 qualifications
We deliver certified apprenticeship qualifications across a range of sectors from Hospitality, Business & Administration, Care & Animal Care to Food Manufacturing. Over the last 25 years we have helped 7,697 apprentices gain their qualifications and watch them develop and grow.

22% of our staff are Welsh speakers!

That’s right Cambrian Training was named after the famous Cambrian Mountains that rise through the heart of Wales, it’s the communities, people & businesses within Wales that are at the heart of the business.
12. World Skills UK Organising Partner since 2015
This competition is ready to test your overall skill, innovation, creativity, presentation, work ethic & more. The competition consists of five tasks that will be carried out and judged over two days in front of a live audience. Cambrian Training have been the Competition organising partner for the past 5 year’s delivery the competition UK wide.
13. Skills Wales competition partner since 2016
Another great competition that that Cambrian Training are proud to be delivering is Culinary Arts, Restaurant Services & Confectionary & Patisserie , allowing entrants to showcase their hospitality skills, including; professional cooking, laying up tables, cocktail making and preparing Irish Coffee’s
14. Cambrian Training “Goes Green”
As a company we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, in turn we have brought in measures such as; installing energy-saving lighting throughout our building, installed photovoltaic panels on the roof of our building to produce energy as well as upgrading our company vehicles to Hybrid cars. Apprenticeships improve business performance, our partner Celtic Manor who has recruited 386 apprentices said that “apprenticeships form the backbone of employee development at the resort and offer a career pathway for people who choose not to follow an academic route”

18. Cambrian Training are growing
We started with just a few employees back in 1995 in a small office and we celebrated reaching 50 employees in November 2013. Cambrian Training are now a fantastic team of almost 71 members of staff. And recently moved to larger premises in Buttington, Welshpool “Ty Cambrian” (Cambrian House) in 2016.
19. Community Matters
We love to support local communities!
At Cambrian Training we are focused on supporting small local employers helping to enhance the economy in their area. In additional we try to purchase from local suppliers wherever possible and we also lend support to many local organisations and sports clubs.
20. Charity is important to us
Staff, apprentices and partner companies of Cambrian Training alike are often involved in amazing charity events to help raise much needed funds and awareness for charities.
To name a few; in 2019 2 members of staff raised £5,000 to support a man with cerebral palsy, a partner company, Radnor Hills raised £3,000 for Mental Health UK and 1 of our apprentices rant the Cardiff Half Marathon! A whole team trained and ran the half for cancer research; Find out more HERE
21. Our Managing Director is an OBE!
Arwyn Watkins our managing director received his OBE in 2018 for his services to Education and Training in Wales. A farmer’s son, Arwyn left Builth Wells High School in 1978 to join the Army as an apprentice chef and has maintained his commitment to apprenticeship programmes throughout his working life with a very strong focus on people development. He continues to champion apprenticeship programmes as the gold standard in business and industry. Find out more HERE
